Virginia -based artist and songwriter Savvy G is one of R&Bs newest voices to listen to. From dancing and singing in the garage to competing in international competitions, Savvy showed promise as a performer from a very young age. She started dance classes at age 9 and by 16 received a contract from the Richmond Ballet to perform in their professional company. Leaving home at a young age to pursue her dreams taught Savvy the drive and dedication needed to be a successful artist. It wasn’t until 2017 that she discovered her natural vocal range. Creating a bridge between the Richmond Ballet Company and Virginia Repertory Theatre, Savvy was offered a contract to join the cast for “In The Heights” and “West Side Story”. Despite having no prior vocal experience or training, the artistic staff at Virginia Rep immediately recognized Savvy’s natural talent in the audition. Finding herself on
stage alongside Broadway performers likes Arielle Jacobs and Gabi Campo, the entire cast encouraged Savvy to pursue her voice.

After 2 years of attempting to balance her full-time career as a company dancer and pursuing her music, Savvy decided to stop dancing professionally. Still working as a choreographer and dance teacher part-time, Savvy spent a year honing in on her songwriting skills and working on her vocals. As well as investing time into learning guitar and piano. She started Recording with different producers all over in Virginia. Specifically in Richmond and the DMV. Through Performing at showcases and hosting events, she grew a small fan base and eventually was discovered by VA-based producer/songwriter Jsmash. Connecting over Instagram, they started working together in early 2020 and by October of 2020 they released her debut EP “The Shift”. A 5 song EP, coupled with a beautiful visual for her last record on the project “Holding On”. She also appears on Akilz Amari’s project No More Losses, featuring on his record “Brown Liquor”. Within a month of her debut, Savvy’s record “Fly Out” was placed on the Heirwave Music Group “TrapDoor” exclusive playlist on Tidal.

Savvy G has successfully rebranded herself as an artist and is unapologetically confident in her lyrics. Savvy has numerous features being released in 2021, along with a deluxe version of her EP. As her album is in completion, Savvy and her team are devoted to fully developing her as an artist.
