Creator Earnings
Creator Earnings
On The Indie Tube, creators can monetize content through ads, subscriptions, and direct sales/rentals — with transparent fees and a built-in Wallet system.
How Monetization Works
You control how your channel earns. Choose one or combine multiple options depending on your audience and goals.
1) Ad Revenue (Creator-Controlled)
Creators can enable ads on eligible videos and channels. Ads may be served before, during, or after content, depending on placement and availability.
- Enable/disable ads at the channel or video level (where supported).
- Ad revenue share is displayed in your dashboard and may vary by ad type, region, and advertiser demand.
- Creators are responsible for ensuring their content complies with our content guidelines and advertiser-friendly standards.
2) Subscriptions (Monthly Support)
Offer a monthly subscription for access to your channel or premium content. Subscribers are charged on a recurring basis until they cancel.
- Set your subscription price (subject to platform minimums/maximums).
- Offer subscriber-only videos, perks, or early access.
- Subscription revenue is subject to applicable fees, taxes, and payment processing costs.
3) Rent / Buy (Direct Video Sales)
Sell or rent individual videos directly to viewers. This is ideal for premieres, exclusive projects, and long-tail catalog earnings.
| Platform Fee | 10% of sales (rentals and purchases). Example: A $10 purchase → $1 platform fee, $9 to the creator (before processing/taxes). |
|---|---|
| Creator Earnings | The remaining amount after platform fees, payment processing, refunds/chargebacks, and applicable taxes. |
| Refunds / Chargebacks | If a transaction is refunded or charged back, the related earnings may be reversed and fees may apply. |
The Wallet (How Payments Flow)
The Indie Tube uses a Wallet system to make transactions simple for viewers and predictable for creators.
Viewer Wallet Top-Ups
Viewers can add funds to their Wallet to purchase subscriptions, rentals, purchases, or other eligible platform products.
Per your current model: Wallet top-ups are collected by The Indie Tube as platform funds (the top-up itself is not a creator payout).
Spending Wallet Funds
- When a viewer spends Wallet funds on your paid content (subscription/rent/buy), the transaction is recorded in your creator earnings ledger.
- Creator earnings are calculated after applicable platform fees (e.g., 10% on sales), processing costs, refunds, and taxes.
- Your dashboard shows transaction details, net earnings, and payout eligibility.
Payouts
When your available balance reaches the minimum payout threshold, you can request a payout (where available).
- Payouts may require identity verification, tax forms, and a valid payout method.
- Processing time can vary based on payment provider, verification status, and risk review.
- We may place a hold on funds to address fraud risk, chargebacks, disputes, or policy enforcement.
